PRESS RELEASE - EXPLORER POST #2306
Perrysburg, Ohio – December 27, 2001 – Students from Perrysburg, Lake, Northwood, and Rossford have joined with the Perrysburg Municipal Court to create the Law and Government Explorer Post #2306. Judge Osterud and the post are looking for more members.
The program is open to young people who are 14 to 20 years old. The group meets twice a month to learn about careers in law and government through hands-on projects, tours of law facilities and government offices, group discussions, and guest speakers. Entry into the state Mock Trial competition is planned in the future. The meetings are held at the Perrysburg Municipal Court every other Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting is January 8, 2002. To become a member please attend a meeting of the Post. Parents are welcome.
Exploring is part of Learning for Life’s career education program. The Perrysburg Municipal Court launched this Explorer post last October by matching their people and resources to the interests of young people in the community. The purpose is to provide our community youth the opportunity to look into the world of law and government as a career choice and to participate in law and government activities.
