VIP MENTORING PROGRAM

Perrysburg, Ohio –  The Perrysburg Municipal Court announces the commencement of its Volunteers in Prevention and Probation (VIP) mentoring program.  The court is actively seeking volunteers to begin training who will, upon completion of training, be assigned as mentors for individuals placed on probation.

VIP is a one-on-one volunteer mentoring program designed to curb relapse into criminal behavior, encouraging probationers to follow conditions of their probation and to become law abiding members of our community.  “This is a chance for members of our community to share their life experience and help direct another person towards a productive life,” said Judge Osterud.  “I have felt a need for this program for some time, and I hope we can get a response from the community to serve in our program.”

Those interested in serving should contact Douglas C. Spencer, Chief Bailiff of the Perrysburg Municipal Court, for an application.  Call Mr. Spencer at (419) 872-7927 or pick up an application from the court at 300 Walnut Street, Perrysburg.  The jurisdiction of the Perrysburg Municipal Court includes the cities of Perrysburg, Rossford, and Northwood; the townships of Perrysburg, Lake, and Troy; and the villages of Luckey, Millbury, and Walbridge.
